For the very 1st time had our dinner last night at Akbars.
1st of all manager was very kind to give us round table. Then everything was perfect from food to service.
Usman is such a wonderful guy. Explained everything about dishes precisely to us.

Went in as a party of four, after ordering drinks at the bar we were shown to our table .We have visited this venue several times over the years and it has always maintained its high standards. Food is excellent and portion sizes are generous. Definitely recommended 👌

Had dinner at Akbar’s in Manchester and had a pretty mixed experience. The family garlic naan was good, as seen in the pictures, but honestly, the poppadoms and pickles were the best thing on the menu.
The service was a bit off—our server seemed new and didn’t know the components of any dishes, which made ordering a bit frustrating. The manager, however, was friendly and understanding when we brought up issues with the food. The lamb biryani was served cold, and the butter chicken lacked any real flavor. Interestingly, when we mentioned this, the manager said that because we ordered the mild version, it was expected to be flavorless? That logic was a bit strange—flavor shouldn’t depend on spice level.
The nihari was flavorful and came warm, but it was too oily and dense. The cheesy seekh kebab tasted like it had been pre-made and refrigerated overnight, which was disappointing. The dynamite chicken was underwhelming,, nothing special, as if I dipped pieces of chicken in my own homemade dynamite sauce, and paid quadruple the price for it. Mango lassi was decent but overpriced, and the same goes for the virgin piña colada.
The atmosphere is loud and lively, very family-friendly, making it a good spot for weekend or Sunday family gatherings. But given how packed the restaurant was, I expected better-tasting food. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I was really hoping for a more enjoyable meal, especially since I had a friend visiting from a different city.
